Gather your Stones:Amethyst, aventurine, moonstone or hematite. Any one or combination will do.
Choose your Oils: Lavender, Citrus/Orange, Ylang Ylang. Any one or combination.
Yoga Props: A bolster or large, long pillow. A pillow to sit on or blanket to cover yourself is desired.
Set up your Space: Create a safe space for your ritual, assure you have the privacy you need to be focused so you can clear your mind and wipe out the stress! If using an altar, set up any inspirational photos, quotes or elements you like.
Ritual:
Remember, you can make these rituals as short or as long as you’d like-take what you need to regain balance!
Before you begin, if a water source or sink is available sweep water up the arms to cleanse & signify a means to clear. Dry the arms and then sweep one hand down each opposite arm & then sweep down the body and the legs. Act as though you are literally sweeping the stress from your body. Take a deep cleansing breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
You may anoint yourself with your oils, or set in a diffuser nearby.
Find a comfortable seat, or lie down (remember NO candles if we may fall asleep!).
Your stone/earth element can be held in your hands, placed somewhere on your body or set nearby.
Give yourself 3 deep, cleansing breaths.
Take some time to perform a mindfulness of breathing meditation. Focus on your breath moving in and out, feel sensations, notice temperature changes, slow it down to begin to relax.
Set your Mantra/affirmation to help clear and release your stress. Repeat it to yourself 3 times.
Give yourself the time you need in this space, when you are ready you can begin a short, light yoga flow.
Begin with legs up the wall. Support yourself as needed and focus on your breath.
Stay as long as feels right, 5-10 minutes
Sit up for a gentle seated twist, allowing the wringing out of tension.
Reclined Bound Angle (Supta Bada Konasana) with bolster, take time to rest and connect and open the heart.
Slowly release and sink into Child’s Pose (Balasana). Allow the earth to support you and find solace in your breath.
Corpse (Savasana)-allow yourself to surrender and offer the healing white light meditation to sweep and remove any remaining stress.
Slowly sit up, give yourself a final cleansing breath. Bring yourself back into the world, refreshed, focused and renewed.
